To help our customers who use firewood to heat their homes, Smart Trees Ltd collects hardwood over 6" in diameter, from our tree felling activities and this is stored in vented bags, seasoned for 12 months and then sold as high-quality firewood for log burners to heat homes around Bristol and Bath. The wood itself has a high heat output and longer burning times for maximum efficiency.

Wood when freshly cut has approximately a 50 percent moisture content and so has to be dried for this length of time to reduce the moisture content to just below 20 percent. This is necessary as too high a moisture content can lead to creosote build up in your chimney and can cause a chimney fire.

The *wood is supplied in 750mm cubed, vented bags, similar to builders supply bags and will cost £65 including VAT plus delivery charge. You can re-use your old bag for your next supply (if kept in good condition) and £5 will be deducted from your next purchase. Delivery will depend on area so please ask for a quote when ordering.

*Note: Log size cannot be accurately measured and may require further processing depending on the type of burner you have. All seasoned timber will have an approximate moisture content of 20%.
